In normal times the organ concert season would be in full swing at Huddersfield Town Hall and some members of the club would be there. At the moment these concerts cannot happen, though it is planned and hoped to start live concerts from January 2021.

In the meantime Gordon Stewart is recording 7 concerts that will be streamed fortnightly until Monday 7 December. If you are not able to watch the concerts as they stream live, they will be available online to watch at any time afterwards.

Today: To celebrate the restoration of the Father Willis organ in 1998 Noel Rawsthorne was asked to write a piece which was performed at a Gala Concert. He was asked for ‘concert music’ and came up with the idea of a suite of dances. They are dedicated to Gordon Stewart who has played them in four continents! Tom Osborne makes a guest appearance to play Telemann’s Concerto in D and Noel Rawsthorne’s Aria.

Please follow the link to find out more and how to tune into the concerts.

The concerts are free to watch, but you can make a contribution on a “pay as you feel” basis if you wish.
